It is that time of year again when Medicare Beneficiaries have the option to change their Medicare Advantage Plan or their Part D Prescription Drug plan & Medicare Supplement!!  We are here for you!

As your Insurance Advisor, I am happy to say that I am comfortable with the plans for 2018.  You will be receiving your ANNUAL NOTICE OF CHANGE from your Advantage plan or Part D Prescription Drug plan.  The first few pages of the booklet describe the changes in your plan.  There is a chart comparing your 2017 plan to the changes for 2018 including premium changes if any.

If you are comfortable with the plan changes:

1.     Complete the STAY SLIP & return it in the envelope provided.  We will notify the company that you are going to stay with your current plan for 2018.

If you are not comfortable with your plan or the changes:

2.      Complete the enclosed MEDICARE REVIEW FORM and return it to our office.  We will contact you to set up an appointment to discuss other options. This is important!!!

• Nexium (esomeprazole)
• Advair Diskus (fluticasone)

And most of these are less than $10, and they have certain generic versions as well.

The Chaiken brothers also claim that BlinkHealth has offered prices than what is being offered at much lower costs. “Using the power of Internet to aggregate,” he said, “when we negotiate, we look to pharmacies like we’re 25 million people.”

“If someone’s paying $15 for a drug, we negotiate something south of that and take a small percentage of savings as revenue,” Geoffrey Chaiken said. “We rely on a making thin margins on a lot of volume.”

Patients are more than welcome to use Blink even if they are insured, all they need to do is to compare the Blink price with the copay.

Starting January 1, 2017, Blink Health is offering a 40 percent discount on insulins provided by Lily under the Blink Health Insulin Patient Access Program. Furthermore, the COO and co-founder Matthew Chaiken has hinted on Blink Health launching more programs like Blink Health Insulin Patient Access Program over the year to improve the out of pocket expenses of healthcare for Americans.

The major drugs that the program includes all forms of Humalog® (insulin lispro injection 100 units/mL), all Humulin® U100 formulations (insulin human injection 100 units/mL), and Basaglar® (insulin glargine injection 100 units/mL). All these high-priced drugs are to be offered to everyone who takes part in this program at a discount of 40 percent.

Now the question is how to participate in this program to gain such extraordinary health benefits. It’s fairly simple and pretty much everyone can become a part of this program.
