The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is your opportunity to review and adjust your Medicare coverage to ensure it meets your needs for the upcoming year. At Roberson Tierney, we specialize in guiding you through the process, making it simple and stress-free.

What Is the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period?

The AEP runs from October 15 to December 7 each year. During this time, Medicare beneficiaries can:

  • Switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan (or vice versa)

  • Change from one Medicare Advantage plan to another

  • Enroll in or switch Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage) plans

  • Drop a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan

Any changes made during AEP will take effect on January 1, 2026

Why Review Your Medicare Plan Each Year?

Medicare plans can change annually—premiums, benefits, provider networks, and drug formularies may be different. If your current plan no longer fits your needs, AEP is the time to make a change.

  • Costs may go up or down

  • New benefits may be available

  • Your doctors or prescriptions may no longer be covered

 Our Process:

As we enter the busy Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), we want to ensure you understand exactly how we’ll be assisting you with your Medicare plan review. Here is a step-by-step overview of what you can expect from Roberson Tierney during this important time:
 

Step 1: Portal Setup

You’ll receive a link via email or text to create your secure personal portal.

  • Through this portal, you can update your doctors, prescriptions, and any personal information.

  • This helps us ensure we have the most up-to-date information to assist you properly.

  • Daphne will be hosting Zoom webinars to explain this new process (check our "Events" tab)

Step 2: “Stay or Review” Slip Sent to You

After completing your portal setup, we’ll mail you a “Stay or Review” slip.

On this slip, you’ll be asked to select one of the following options:

  •  I would like Roberson Tierney to review my plan options.

  • I have read my Annual Notice Of Change and  I am choosing to stay with my current plan.

Once you’ve made your selection:

  • Mail the slip back to us using the pre-addressed envelope provided.

Step 3: Next Steps Based on Your Selection

🔹 If You Choose to Stay:
– Once we receive your stay slip, you will receive an email confirmation from us.
– No further action is needed on your part!

🔹 If You Would Like a Plan Review:
– Once we receive your review slip, we will begin reviewing your plan options based on the information you provided in the portal.
– Due to the high volume during AEP, please note that this process may take some time.
– We will reach out to you directly once your review is complete to discuss your options.

Step 4: We’ll Contact You

If you requested a plan review, we’ll contact you as soon as your personalized review is ready.

  • There’s no need to follow up—we’re working diligently to get to everyone as quickly as possible.

  • If you chose to stay, you’re all set after receiving your confirmation email!
